She has a B.A. in Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with an emphasis in Photography, as well as competing on the women's tennis team. Her experience as a college athlete informs her practice and understanding of sports injuries.
Upon graduation from UCSC, she traveled the world as an artist, educator, and student.  In her travels, she discovered her passion for service in the medical field. Having worked with underpriveldged youth in South America, she observed the urgency for health education and preventative natural medicine.
In 2009 she began studying Ayurveda at the International Academy of Ayurved in Pune, Maharashtra, North India. In 2010 she became an apprentice in the gurukulam of Dr. L.Mahadeva Iyer at the Sri Sarada Ayurvedic Hospital in Derisanamcope, Tamil Nadu. At the village hospital she learned the value of integrating western medicine with Eastern medicine. Her interest in this led her to further her studies in traditional medicine.
Returning to the Bay Area to attend Acupuncture school was the next step in her development as a holistic practitioner. During her time at AIMC Berkeley, she traveled to China to study at the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. That experience has greatly inspired and influenced the depth of her practice in acupuncture and herbal medicine.
